I brought Sam home the evening before my mom passed away (unexpectedly); and I remember my mom knocking on my bedroom door that night, and asking to get a better look at him (I had said that I would find a home for him starting the next Monday), and with my room being very messy, I was unable to find him right then, and then I fell asleep; I rushed to meet with a friend early the next Sunday morning, and on my way home, my dad called me telling me of my mom's passing. We decided to keep Sam (my dad named him), and my dad loved Sam alot, but a few months later, someone shot him in the spine in my front yard, leaving him on his back, where I found him--he was still alive--he really tried hard to move his back legs at the vet's a few minutes later, but my dad and the vet felt that he should be led to the Bridge. Goodbye Sam, thank you for giving my dad the love he deserves, and which I haven't given him like I should for the past several years. I stayed with Sam while he went to sleep, and just focused on the thought that now my mom would get to hold him and see him like she wanted hours before she died.
