Socks was actually 4 years, 8 months, and 6 days old. He was a Tom cat who was king of the neighboorhood. He was definately mine. I had to talk to him before I left for any length of time greater than two days so he would not go crazy. He was mostly black, with white paws, half a white nose, a white diamond on his chest that trailed to become a white belly. He was a really good cat and I miss him so much. It's really hard because my birthday is two days after his death so as you can see I had a great birthday present this year. I miss him dearly, after Lucky(he has a memorial here to, he's a dog) died Socks was my world. I am an animal lover and watching both of my animals die by the same cause is hard. Idiots, they hit him on purpose. He threw something in his spinal cord and he did not survive, honestly I think it's because he thought I was abandoning him at the vet's. I did not get the chance to tell him that they could help him better than I could and to hang in there. He suffered through what had to have been a long night for him as well as me as I lay their next to him flinching every time he screeched in pain. He made it through the night though, but he would not leave my side nor did he like it when I got up for any reason. My room seems really empty without his presence hanging around. I miss his occasional cat-like antics. Socks found it to be the most amusing thing to lay on my homework or my book depending on what I was doing. That cat thought he was the most important thing in the world and that could be my fault becasue I treated him as such most of the time.
