Lucy the Mixed Breed (Tuxedo) Cat

I got Lucy in May 06 from a kitty Shelter. She was FIV positive when I got her. I visited the shelter one day and saw this beautiful black and white cat separate from the other cats. Was told that was because she was FIV positive and had to be isolated from the rest. I went up to her little cage to visit her and she jumped on my lap mewing and purring. I knew i had to give this cat a chance.

It took me a month to take her in. Lucy had been feral most of her life so I discovered that she liked to keep to herself. She did never completely trust me but I guess in the end she did. She was not the sort to jump up on my lap and cuddle. She would run away, not want to socialize but I loved her for what she was, not what I would have wanted her to be. She had had a tough life and I did not know what all she had been through to be the way that she was.

All I know is that despite everything she grew to trust and love me in her own silly little way. She was the most beautiful cat and the gentlest. She NEVER scratched or bit me or any of my kids no matter how scared she was. She was a little angel and I'm so happy I could give her a home even though it was in the last part of her life. I did not even realize how she had touched my life till she was gone. She died of Kidney failure on Jan 13 07.She will always be part of me and i hope she knew how much I loved her. I will never forget my little doll who despite her mistrust for people in general trusted me with her life.
