I think obedience should be the focus right now. Try getting your dogs to do simple commands at home where they are comfortable. Once they show mastery of the command, then you can start practicing with other familiar animals/people around. Finally, you can transition to more unknown environments. Patience is the key!

My dog did the same, but he eventually grew out of it. I had to use corrections quite a bit (while saying "Leave it!") until I saw him getting better about it.

This happened with my dog as well! I’m just trying to reinforce the fact that being around other dogs is a good thing and not a bad thing. Rewarding good behavior is definitely helping…but what has helped the most is actually my demeanor. Before, I used to anticipate fights happening which would get me very tense. The more tense I got, the worse my dog got. As I learned to relax around others and not EXPECT my dog growl or snap, things got better. Any other advice is welcome though as we are not 100% yet!

My dog tends to watch tv minutes at a time. It’s so weird! I feel like he responds to the TV more when there is a male talking (as opposed to a female, or other dogs barking, etc.)

I think at times it’s okay to leave your dog…but definitely not regularly. To me, dogs are social and need that stimulation. Otherwise they tend to become nervous if they are kept in the house all day…

Teeth brushing is a must! I have a small chihuahua poodle mix and we had to get his teeth scaled because it got so bad! Maintenance is key!

I’d say go smaller first and then adjust as you go. Lots of people have different experiences with different dogs. I thought a small leash for me would be sufficient, but ended up getting a very thick one just due to my dog.
