you shouldn’t cross different breeds of rabbits, because it is pretty useless. I think if you breed rabbits they should be purebred because there isn’t any market for mutt rabbits and besides you aren’t contributing to improving the breed
so . . . just don’t unless you want to get involved in showing or breeding

I’ve noticed that once you separate rabbits, they never seem to remember that they lived together, so they don’t get along. You should keep them both in separate cages if they aren’t spayed. They wont get lonely, they might even be happier to have their own cage.

Yeah, i tried breeding my rabbits twice to increase litter size (they would have 1-4) and they each had eight babies! All of a sudden i had 16 babies! Pretty wild. Just saying, if you want to raise a lot of babies, breed twice. But if you wont be able to handle that many babies you should just breed once. I know i will go back to breeding just once, i’m just a hobby breeder so i don’t need that many lol!

rabbits can have as few as one baby to as many as 10. Your rabbit is probably going to be all right and the babies are brown because they will have brown fur, they sound ok. You just have to make sure that you have a nest box for the babies to stay in, they can’t just live on the wire. you can buy a nest box at a pet store or you can place the babies and all the fur, hay, etc. in a shoe box. good luck hope the babies are all okay

Buying a big cage for your rabbit would be an easy solution and possibly less expensive than repairing your house! If you are patient and have the time to train it works well though. Don’t let your rabbit loose outside, they aren’t like cats and dogs. I like to watch my rabbits run, I can’t let them go alone because they get into all kinds of mischeif!

It is sad that your parents don’t care but I don’t think you can do much for a rabbit that young anyways, just see if it gets better. I raise rabbits in N. OK so I know how hot it gets and this is what I do. First, keep the cage out of the sun. It has to be in shade all day, especially in the afternoon because OK is super hot!! Second, if it will be a hot day (over 85) I would take the nest box with the babies in it into your house and then return them to their mother at night. They will be just fine, they don’t have to be with their mother all the time and she only feeds her babies at night anyways. I put the nestbox in a tub in a bathroom so if the babies jump out they cant get loose in the house. And keep the door closed too. You don’t want other things getting in there. Baby rabbits are sensitive to temperature changes especially newborns so they will be able to be outside all the time at 4 wks. old. Just remember to give them lots of water. I hope this helps you good luck. 🙂

You could put the cord under the carpet or a rug if you have a wood floor. Sounds like you are pretty determined to proof your home. 🙂

Since they live and eat together, one rabbit is getting more food than the other. You could feed one while the other is running around outside. Then switch. That way you know exactly how much each is eating. You shouldn’t feed a rabbit more than it can eat in an hour anyways. And about the teeth, don’t worry unless it affects the way she eats (sounds like it doesn’t!) I’ve seen perfectly healthy rabbits with black teeth, it seems to just happen and then go away. When they get older rabbits teeth get not so white.

I’ve heard that cats will move their litter around. She probably thinks it is safer behind the chest of drawers. I think you can leave the kittens there. Maybe you can put the basket behind the chest of drawers. Good luck with your kittens

I believe that the only people who should breed rabbits are those who belong to ARBA and are breeding to improve the breed. Too many people breed rabbits randomly, these rabbits end up in shelters, etc. If people would alter their pet rabbits they wouldn’t be tempted to breed them. I breed rabbits for show, but some are not show quality. These i must sell as pets, but before i sell them i get them fixed so the pet owner cannot breed them. I urge all other responsible rabbit breeders who belong to the ARBA and are registered rabbitries to spay or neuter rabbits they sell for pet. This will help cut back on backyard random breeding! okay, sermon is over . . .

average gestation is 31 days. Most rabbits wont pull fur until they are just about to give birth. If she does give birth, you will need to check the babies everyday to make sure they are doing ok. Mother rabbits will not reject the babies if you handle them.

I have owned rabbits for many years, and i have heard tons of conflicting opinions regarding green foods. First, you should feed your rabbit a solid diet of good pelleted feed. Good pelleted feed doesn’t have corn or all the other dried junk they mix in. Just plain pellets. Rabbits love greens, but the wrong greens are bad for them. If you want to feed greens, give just a little every day. DO NOT FEED LETTUCE IT HAS NO NUTRITIONAL VALUE! No lettuce, celery, or any other watery stuff. Carrots, parsley, beet greens, and spinach are all good sources of nutrients and have less water. A better supplement to give your rabbit is oats. Rabbits love oats so much! They are very high in fiber, which keeps your rabbits digestive tract healthy. I only give about 1 tablespoon a day though because they are high in fat. Flax seed is also a really good treat and has even more benefits than oats! But it is very rich, so I usually give 1 teaspoon. SO, the short summary is: No lettuce or related greens, a little greens is okay, GRAINS are the best for your rabbit. Make sure the staple of the diet is pellets. You wouldn’t feed a cat just raw meat, you give it cat food right? So, you feed a rabbit pellets, not just greens and grains. Oh yeah, don’t forget to feed the timothy hay!

I would get on the internet and go to google to search for more information, but i can give you a little advice. Make sure that you keep the new cat away from the others for a month so they can get used to the smell of each other and don’t get freaked out that there is a stranger. Each cat needs its own food bowl and litter box. Watching your cats will allow you to prevent fights, other problems. Good luck
