I am moving to florida, we have a well, but it smells like rotten eggs, my husband says that nothern florida is known for this. will it hurt my horses ? thanks for any help tami
Hi Tami,
I have been to a couple places south and east of Tampa that had well water that smelled badly. I was always told it was from sulfur in the water which gives it the rotten egg smell.
If it were me, I’d have a sample tested before allowing anyone or anything to drink from the well. I would want to know fore sure what was in the water before drinking it. If there is a problem with the quality of the water I am pretty sure a filtration system could be used.
