There are plenty of places to shop for pet supplies on the internet. Granted you have to pay postage, but if you keep up with them all, they do have free shipping sometimes.
Sep 20, 2009 at 1:47 #434028That is too bad about your cat. It is so sad to lose our good friends. I am glad you have someone new in your life but you will always remember Ferby.
Sep 3, 2009 at 10:48 #434065I have a cat also with long hair and I didn’t believe this but the vet showed me how to comb the hair to get the knots out. You just get a fairly strong comb and as gently as possible just comb the cat and pull the knots out. Sounds like it would be painful but this particular cat let me do it. I am sure there probably put something on there to soften it up but I don’t know what it is.

Aug 13, 2009 at 4:02 #492113Actually, I have to agree with you. A friend of mine, goes to the local Pet Smart here and looks in the dumpster behind the store and it is always full of stuff that could be used by the shelters and rescue organizations. It is too bad they don’t give it to the local shelters etc. . She does get a lot of good stuff.
Aug 13, 2009 at 3:57 #439913I have four kittens that I have had since they were 4 weeks old and they all have totally different personalities. I think the one that is so nervous will eventually come around and be more loving. Maybe try to give it a little extra love. I had one that was very shy, and every morning, I give it the remains of my milk from my cereal and now he is my best friend. Just takes a little something special that you could do, to make it like you better. Hope this helps.
Jul 26, 2009 at 2:17 #439715Do you see the places where the cat urinates when she doesn’t do it in the litter box??? If you do, maybe really clean it up and put something on it so it won’t smell like urine.
Hope you can figure something out. Good luck.Jul 6, 2009 at 1:24 #475621It sounds to me like he might have Anhidrosis. It is a disease that can come up suddenly. You need to watch our horse and when this happens, hose him off for at least fifteen minutes. And try to figure out someway to keep him out of the sun and the heat. I had a pony with it and I found that feeding her a supplement for her hooves really helped her. Good luck.
Jul 5, 2009 at 4:11 #459248Can you leave the door to the outside open while you sit right outside the door, and see if the dog will come out for some treats??? Or is there anyway you can carry the dog outside??? I would try sitting right outside the door and if it doesn’t work at first, just keep trying with lots and lots of patience.
