We lunge and longline both. We start a horse out by teaching them to lunge.. learning to listen to signals and go forward and then add side reins and all that.. eventually moving up to long lining and driving. alot of horses do get tired of going around in a circle all the time but young horses do need to learn the basics first. The horse i have now didnt know how to lunge either when i got her. she is 3 also and very stubborn lol. it takes alot of patience and repitition. Babies are interesting to ride.. they are all over the place lol. she probably just needs alot of ground work and lots of time being ridden to understand what’s expected of her. Long lining would be good for her to learn to listen to ur hands and go where u want her to.. we even long line in a circle sometimes so u dont have to worry about the horse takin off and dragging u up the driveway lol.

if you walk in the direction of the bathroom my cat is at a dead run to get in there. he loves to drink out of the sink facet. everytime someone goes in the bathroom there he is, sitting in the sink patiently waiting for someone to turn it on for him. lol

we dont have any horses that jump big jumps right now. we have a baby i am training to jump, but he’s just starting. yes, some saddlebreds are awesome at dressage. i have never done it but we use some dressage techniques in our training, and alot of successful dressage horses are saddlebreds. they are very versatile.

it all beginner equitation is an english class that judges u as a rider and not the horses performance. they judge ur position on the horse and abilities as a rider. there are walk trot classes and walk trot canter classes. a cavaletti class is one where u and ur horse trot over a set of small "jumps" but its not actually jumping, just stepping over them.
there are alot of different disciplines u can show. there is western pleasure, english, huntseat, dressage, jumping… all of them have different rules and requirements. i show mostly english, but i also do some western here and there.

my cat stays indoors only also. when i noticed he started getting a little chunky i started measuring out his food. he gets fed at the same time every day and basically stays on a diet. before i was just keeping his bowl full so he could eat whenever he wanted. he’s a pretty good weight right now.
