I believe you did the right thing. You let him go with dignity. Our rottie was diagnosed 12-26 with cancer in a very advanced stage. We put him down on this past Tuesday because his symptoms and difficulties were quickly progressing. As difficult as it was and with little time to prepare, we did what we felt was best for him. He was 10 days short of 11 years old.
