I have four dogs, Vixen, Willy, Bonnie, and Donna. Vixen and sometimes Donna and Willy, like to rub up on us when we have perfume or lotion on. I think it’s because they like it and they want to smell like us, or they don’t like it and want it off us because we don’t smell right. It’s kind of weird and just wondering if anyone knows why they do that.
Well, in the wild dogs in Africa roll in elephant dung to mask their smell when hunting. Maybe it has something to do with that?
I read somewhere that dogs rub things in an attempt to obtain the scent for themselves. Sometimes it may be trash or dirty diapers, othertime it may be perfume!
Go figure!
