Help! My 6 year old, male, neutered cat is slowly losing his hair. The hair loss in mainly on his abdomen and rear legs. He has had a problem before with overgrooming due to stress and was treated for the problem. He was scratching the hair out between his shoulders. We changed collars and he stopped scratching the hair and scratched the collar until he was used to it, then all was fine. This hair loss now is in a completely different place and I don’t think he is scratching it out I think it is falling out!! I just noticed today how bad it is getting and my vet is out of town for the next week. Any ideas from anyone what this could be??? I have read about allergies from food and environment and I have read about the psychological aspects of this, but I would like to know if anyone has dealt with this first hand.
