My 11 year old cat’s main diet is dry cat food. He doesn’t like canned food at all but he goes crazy whenever I open a can of tuna. Is it safe to feed him about a teaspoon of tuna a day as a treat or is there too much mercury in tuna?

Does anyone have opinions on this?

I haven’t opened a can of tuna around my (new) cat yet. I know my grandma used to let the dog lick out the tuna can every day when she was eating sandwhiches all the time.. but that was a dog.. I wouldn’t think a lil tuna would be any worse that feeding canned fish-type cat food but I dunno for sure.
