Has anyone heard of a week that puppies should not be taken away from their mother becasue they are more fearful. I was told that it was between the 7 and 8 week old. Is this the same for kittens?
The best age for a medium to large to giant size pup to go to its new home is 8 weeks old. Dogs under 10 to 15lbs as adults typically should wait until they’re 12 weeks old. The "fear period" is typically between 8 and 12 weeks, though it’s not always appearent in all puppies. I’m not sure if it’s the same in kittens though.
