Did you check for worms? My kitten, Karina, was eating but losing weight, and she had AWFUL tapeworms..
my first thought is hyperthyroidism weightloss can be normal in older pets but i would take the cat to vet and have blood work maybe a urinalysis done there are a few diseases in older kitties that can cause weightloss
