My kitten is 4 to 5 weeks old w/o a mother so we have been giving it Hartz formula from a bottle. I have mixed alittle can food w/ the formula, advise from person who was taking care of her for her first 3 weeks of life. The last couple of days I tried putting formula in a kitty dish & put some on her lips & she has no intrest at all :-X, but when I put the bottle up to her mouth she goes nuts sucking it. Does anyone know when she should start eating from a dish? And also I have can & dry which I have tried both with the formula in the dish. I have also heard that kittens & cats should only eat dry cause it makes their fur soft & their poopies less stinky. 😛 Any advice??? ??? ??? ???

Here is one of the best resources I have found that directly addresses your problem. http://www.netcat.org/symposium/fading-kittens.html This is not that uncommon and if you contact this group, they may be able to advise you further. I have always done what you are doing, but I used baby meat and canned kitten food and then gradually weaned to dry when the kitten was closer to seven weeks. But an all dry diet especially with kittens can have risks as well. They need adeuqate fliud intake and dry food has limited moisture. Also this is another excellent resource: http://www.messybeast.com/handrear.htm (I wish I had these when I was weaning a four week old kitten seven years ago!!! LOL!)
