How long after mating can a pet iguana lay her eggs? I have 2 three year old green iguanas, male and female. Until recently I thought I had 2 males territorial fighting but then realized he was trying to mate with her. She finally gave in and stopped fighting him off sometime February and I saw them mate frequently for a week or so. I expected her first clutch of eggs to come around early to mid April estimated from info found online. But still nothing so I thought maybe she had reabsorbed them or something since shes never laid before. Then this week shes been frantically searching, scratching and digging at everything. My sofa, pillows,bunny litter box. And I noticed her belly suddenly looks huge and bulgy. Is it possible for her to lay that long after mating?
