I have a cat and he will not eat,We have tried almost everything. He is somewhat old,we checked his teeth and they are fine. My cat and my dog always got alone well until we gave my dog a bone and the cat sniffed it and my dog growled and pounced and chased her out of the room,he was not physically harmed though only frightend, could the fear cause him to stop eating?

Take him to the vet for a full blood workup. The cat could have kidney disease, which affects the appetite. Old cats often come down with these kind of ailments. Loss of appetite is a symptom of a number of illnesses. The blood panel will be about $200 I think, and it tends to catch a lot of things.
