Is It A Problem If Rabbits Don’t Eat Pellets?

I recently reduced the amount of timothy based pellets I offer my 8 month old rabbit. He's eating more hay which is great, but now he's not touching the pellets. Should I worry? Doesn't he need to eat some amount of pellets? He also gets about 2 cups of veggies (3 different kinds) each day.

If rabbits are being provided with a high-fibre natural diet such as good quality hay there is no actual need for them to also eat pellets. In fact, most rabbits will thrive on a diet in which the sole source of fibre is plenty of hay. However, there is no harm in offering the pellets to him in addition, adn being low in calories and high in fibre timothy-pellets are a good choice.
