Have u seen a vet? ???Maybe you should schedule an appointment with a special Equine Hospital and check his legs out. Sometimes, though, those things just can’t be helped!! :'(

Howdy, I recently purchased a APHA yearling, in his baby pictures his back legs are perfectly straight, he came form Canada so he had a 3 day trailer ride, he was also pulled off his mom at 3 months, now he’s a year old and his back legs turn in a little bit, he has very high blood lines, and has very much potential, do y’all have any idea how to staighten his legs out? We have him on supplements and we’re going to get his hooves checked this week. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tia

Cow hocks is quite common among horses but as long as the legs are strong it is not a fault. if you want you could get him corrective shoes like clydesdales often wear. dont worry about his legs turning in. it will not affect him

Just make sure they do not turn in too far because that could definitely cause problems.(though they usually don’t)

Hey, I looked at my colt, and I noticed that he only turns in as much as other yearlings, maybe a little more on the right leg but we did get him checked and our ferrier said that in about 3-4 months we can straighten him out, we are giving him supplements now to strenghthen his bones, the reason i worry about his legs is because he is a very high potential for halter showing. Thanks for the help, I’ll keep Y’all updated.

    yeah!!!! ;D

    That sounds kinda mean!!

in showing clydies it is actually bred for them to have cow hocks. it is only the ones that do farm work that wear corrective shoes. i can’t see why people would breed them to be like that. ???

Why do they break saddlebreds tails?!?!? :'( Is it because they want the horse to hold it a certain way or fo it to look/lay a certain way? 🙁

I think breeding a horse to have cow hocks is mean too. But horses are bred to do certin things. I don’t like it when they break the saddlebreds tails :'(. Well wish me luck! i should be getting the results from the HYPP testing this week!!!!! :-
