I have bred lond haired dauchsunds my whole life, but was mostly a cat person until one day my husband and I were walking through a flea market in Mobile Alabama, and there she was. My Babie Luv, a pekinese puppy just a 8 weeks old. I knew instantly that I had to have her. We are like peas in a pod, always together. She has the biggest personality I have ever seen in any dog, complete with emotions. And she can go from bouncing off the walls (literaly) to snuggleing as sweet as can be and everything in-between. She is so very smart, learning commands without any effort on my part. She never barks though, she's almost 2 now. I could almost say she doesnt have a mean bone in her body, but once in a blue moon she meets a dog and there is just something about it that makes her instantly hate it on site. This has only happened on 2 occasions. The first dog was a Boston Terrier, Baby was playing in her playpen outside and the terrier came over and my sweet little Babie turned into Cujo! Complete with foaming at the mouth, attacking the chainlink that seperated them , bitting it. She just went absolutely crazy! She just wanted that dog to die, right now! She is usually accepting of other dogs and cats. But she just hated that particular dog. It happened on 1 more occasion with a beagle. I have no idea why. Babie is the sweetest dog and generally doesnt have a temper at all. Maybe she knows something we dont. But Babie is my heart, she's the best pet and friend I have ever had, she's not very protective though, I always laugh and say if someone broke into our house she would just think he was there to pet her belly. Thats what she thinks everyone is there for!
