WYSIWYG Super Orange With Purple Polyp Stereonephthya Indonesia Soft Coral:
$120

Indonesian super orange with purple polyps. The color you see is it’s natural color. It does not fluoresce to produce this shade of orange. Super orange stereonephthya with purple polyps is an exceedingly rare soft coral that few people have seen. It is sometimes called nephthya or nephthea and is in the nephtheidea family of arboreum (tree like) coral. This is not a Kenya tree (capnella) or dendronepthya but a far more elegant and rare coral with beautiful interlacing sclerites (small fibers within the stalk and limbs). Stereonephthya has nearly transparent stalks. That combined with the visible sclerites it takes on a stained glass appearance. This orange tree coral does not need any type of special light to bring out the orange coloration. It is 100% photosynthetic.

Unlike Vietnamese super orange Indonesian super orange has more polyps which will conceal more of the orange when open. Also the polyps are darker. This may dim the orange but as you can see when polyps are closed it is clearly super orange.

Stereonephthya is not an aggressive coral and will not over run your tank like some capnella species. It tends to be a low growing coral and very bush like.

This coral is very slow to grow.

One very unique attribute with this coral is the polyps will pulse at random times.

Photographed under FHO 10k, 15k, and actinic. No editing or filters have been used.

I strongly recommend overnight shipping. If you choose priority mail I will refund the difference however I cannot offer an arrive alive guarantee.

Purchase over 250.00 receive free shipping upgraded shipping.

In the event of DOA you need to contact me within two hours of delivery. Photos will be required.

Stereonephthya will completely deflate in shipping or even your aquarium and appear dead. As long as the coral is not falling apart it will fluff up with if a couple days.
