In 1996, the company was purchased by Worthington Custom Plastics, leaving Texas-Ware to the past.It was advertised as unbreakable, and mid-century housewives had a strong preference for Texas-Ware. It was practical, inexpensive and attractive. In 2007 Rachael Ray featured her collection of Texas-Ware bowls on her cooking show, leading to a renewed interest in the dishware.
