Vintage Antique Stunning Rare Pre WW2 German 1930’s Arengo Fountain Pen For Sale -

Here is a genuine German pre WW2 Arengofountain pen, box and instructions, this is out my personal collection, I havehad this pen for some time and when restored was fully working but on checkingfound the piston has seized and I can’t break into the barrel to repair and sosadly I am selling as spares or repairs, this is a very rare 1930’s pen in amagnificent condition, these pens were only made from 1935 to around 1939 andprobably would have been a WW2 officers, this is a chunky sized pen at over 130mmlong capped. WORK DONE TO THE FOUNTAIN PENS:

• Fully polished and cleaned
• Ultrasonic cleaning
• Any threads are cleaned and tested
• Hand and machine polished
• Any metal fittings polished
• Dip write tested

THE WRITE:This is an absolutely amazing smoothwriting experience with a superb firm nib with a nice give that glides likesilk over the paper, The pre WW2 war German pen producers tried to simulate the14k gold flexi with a steel based equivalent, this is a superb nib thatachieves that wonderful springy feel I would say a slightly flexi nib that willcreate a wonderful constant or varied line, recommended to be a treasured as aneveryday pen and an extremely rare pen. It has been dip tested in ink notfilled but the filling system has been tested.

THE BARREL: German pens were the only manufacturerwho made a mottled pattern barrel with a black cap

• No barrel imprint (most German pens had any imprint on the caps)
• Stunning surface condition
• Given polish to return to a pristine finish
• Tinted ink window
• Piston/plunger filling system
• All threads are perfect and cleaned

THE FILLINGSYSTEM: Plungeror sometimes called piston filling systems came to popularity around the1940’s/1950\'s and offered a really functional filling system, pioneered inGermanyin the late 1930\'s, simply dip the niband feed in the ink and expel the air by twisting the plunger screw at the endof the barrel to bring the plunger to the front of the barrel then reverse andtwist the plunger to fill with ink. This pen offers a nice efficient and smoothfilling action

THE INK:I have many questions as to what ink toput in these old pens, many inks are out there and it really depends on theviscosity of the ink there are dye based and inks for rapidographs pens but asa general safe ink I always recommend Parker Quink. Also a recommendation froma pen expert Diamine inks (notthe \"Shimmertastic\" inks) are also very good and will complement thepen

THE CAP:

• Correct black cap for the barrel
• Near mint condition
• No dings or dents, cracks or splits
• Screws on the barrel firm and tight
• Gold plated clip says Arengo
• Correct palm tree logo to the cap end
• Knurled band to base

THE NIB:

• Gold plated nib
• Looks as new and unused
• Nib has correct Arengo logo to the nib
• Nib is springy yet firm
• Medium nib
• Super smooth writer

THE BOX AND INSTRUCTIONS:

• Very good condition
• No writing
• No tears or splits
• Says Arengo to the top
• Pattern to side
• Palm tree logo to the ends
• Instructions are in excellent condition
