Very good condition original US Model 1873 TrapdoorSpringfield socket bayonet that is marked US on the blade flat. Bayonet hasbeautiful original blue metal finish showing very little wear. Full length 18”blade has a few tiny nicks on the edge. Complete with working lock ring. Fittedin correct original steel scabbard that has leather throat tab and brass U.S.roundel and belt hook. Steel body has mostly brown and gray metal finish and nodents. Leather part is soft and supple with tight stitching. Brass fittingshave nice looking patina. A nice example of a classic Indian Wars TrapdoorSpringfield bayonet that will make a fine addition to your collection.
