You are offerding on an U.S. Army Indian War Period Privately Purchased Blue Wool Kepi with Cavalry Side Buttons. Kepi is a nicely made example with black silk like lining. The brown leather sweatband is unmarked. Hat has Eagle Buttons with C in the center that are fixed with round brass pins. Buttons appear to be non matching. One is maker marked T.N. DALE & CO. N.Y. The other button is difficult to decipher but I was able to clearly see MANN. Visor has surface cracks and crazing. Thin gold wire cord is tarnished. Hat appears to be a US size 7 & 1/8. Hat appears to have been together for a very long time and has nice believable age and wear. This was a recent walk in to my military store.
