Extremely rare and even more so in this fabulous condition, this is Steiff's amazingEnglish Bulldog. This Bulldog was produced for a very short period from 1956-1962only. It was created with a beigemohair coat with black,red, and brown airbrushing.He is in a standing position and hisconfiguration his still very erect and solid. Hemeasures 8" Tall x 10" Long and is considered to be a 18cm Steiff collectible. Hisopenfelt lined mouth features two cornerincisors ( as it should be), and he has blackandwhite googly eyes that are in a lovely condition. His neck is jointedso his headcanswivel in all directions and thisjoint functions beautifully with no loosenesswhat-soever.His red leather collar is alsoimmaculate as is it's bristle crown. He even has afullyfunctioning (loud but cute )squeaker. These squeakers are frequently the very firstthingto show age or toomuch "loving". Fortunately this lucky fellow appears to have beendisplayed only.Best of all the silver thin scripted Steiff button has been retained (seephoto #6).All in all a very special collector's grade piece that will be a star in any Steiff ,Dog,or Bulldog lover's collection. Created exclusively for F.A.O. Schwarz this wasofferedin the USA only making it even rarer and more difficult to find and acquire. Steiff priceguidebook values him at $1100.00 and up.
