Restored RCA Victor 45 EY 2 record player.
The only way to listen to 45 RPM records is on a record changer. Otherwise, you are getting up every three minutes or so to change records. This unit has been rebuilt and it\'s original finish has been polished to a nice sheen.. Included is a removable, clear coated, brass turntable ring. (See photo shown with ring removed.)The turntable has a new rubber drive wheel—not merely \"revitalized\" rubber but a new wheel for years of service! (Treated or \"revitalized\" wheels do not last. 50 year old rubber can not be restored \"like new\".) The rubber motor mounts have been replaced with new original style version for quiet operation. The amplifier has all new capacitors and out of spec resistors have been replaced as well. Then, the amplifier was run on its own with a tone generator for several hours with voltages monitored to make sure they were within the original RCA specifications to ensure stable operation. Clean sound and , hum free operation is the result of rebuilding the amplifier. Also, this means a long future life since all the vital parts are new! For safety a new\"original style\" power cordwas installed. This cord and plughas more of a correct \"look\" for the time period.
The original obsolete crystal cartridge has been replaced with a new modern, wide range, ceramic cartridge. There are three benefits to using this new cartridge: much improved sound than when the unit was new. The tone is fuller and clearer highs. Much easier on records, too. Finally, the needle is stereo compatible and will safely play stereo 45\'s without damaging them. Record player can stack 13 to 14 records. 39 minutes or more of music--greater with EP\'s. Volume control on side to adjust for full, rich, room filling sound. Changer mechanism has been dismantled and rebuilt and adjusted so to function as designed when new. Changes records smoothly and without hesitation, just as it should. Cosmetically, electronically, and mechanically it is great! Included will be a reprint of the original RCA Victor instruction manual that was supplied with this item. If final price is $300 or more, a three month warranty will be included at no extra charge.
