ORIGINAL COLONIAL GERMAN SCHUTZTRUPPE SWORD MARKED KS WITH AND MATCHING SCABBARD For Sale -

This sale is for an original german south west african sword used by the Schutztruppe . This is an 89 IOD colonial pattern sword . It has two sets of matching numbers . It is marked KS 250. on the brass hilt as well as on the throat of the scabbard. There is also a number 27 on the base of the scabbard on the drag and on the brass hilt. These marked swords are rarer then the private purchase officers pattern and where issued by military stores and do not have the usual crown on the pommel. Non of these KS marked have turned up for sale on or on the internet due to their rarity. The regimental KS marking stands for Kaiserliche Schutztruppe. The blade is correct , being a double fullered spear pointed plated one , of length 838mm. There is a coach door dent half way down and 2 small nicks on the bottom quarter of the scabbard. There is a tiny bit of plating coming off the blade and a couple of surface scratches , other then that the blade is in very good condition. Only a couple of these swords are still in existence and are almost impossible to find !!!!!! The sword is located in Hamburg / Germany and will be shipped to the winning buyer from that location.
