The M73 type is a high voltage, heavy wattage, continous duty capacitor. Insulation between the plates is achieved with 1/4 \" thick, military specification high quality ceramic insulators riveted to the plated steel endframe. These plates are tied together by solid aluminum and brass bars forming a rigid structure. The rotor rides on ball bearings between the front end plate and the stainless steel shaft and the blades are heavy duty .032\" aluminum.

This Capacitor uses the Strap Contacts:

Economical and efficient, the newly redesigned strap contact consists of a nickel-silver strap (either 6mm or 12mm wide) looping over and brushing against a self-lubricating bronze bushing that turns with the rotor. Rated at 2 amps RF with 6mm width.

From the information on the catalog page, thecapacitor has a .030\" air gap and has 55 plates their site indicatesit has alittle less than 1000 WV and about 25 to 1000 pF of capacitance. Other sites list .030 spacing at 1500 Volts. They are made to hadle high RF current -- which equals high power.

The size is 2.5\" high by 2 1/4\" wide and 5\" deep. The 1/4\" shaft sticks out the front 1 1/2\" and the bottom mounting tabs stickback into the body 5/8\" from either end, allowing for mounting with screws on 4 1/2\" centers.

Item is ingood used condition, it was part of an automated tuner for plasma and the capacitor was originally auto tuned, thus the tension on the tuning is not high. A screw / nut adjusts the tension. It is sold as-is, it is similar to what ispictured and as described.
