Unfortunately this medium sized pig from the Trobriands has a crack running along the length of his right side, spoiling his overall good looks. He measures 8 1/2\" long, 4 1/4\" tall and 2 3/4\" wide, and has the typical incised decoration of the Massim area. I especially like the four pointed star on each side, and the triangular shaped incised mark under each eye like you see on their human figures from the area. Made from the reddish wood typical of many Massim carvings, with the incised surface work in-filled with lime rubbed in. The tail may have lost its tip. I am happy to combine lots for shipping.
