NEW Gretzky EASTON HXP 5100 Extra Stiff Aluminum Stick For Sale -

Up for sale is this NEW shiny Gretzky EASTON HXP 5100 chrome aluminumhockey stick. The stick is NOT GAME USED. I personally acquired this stick directly from Easton through anowner of a sporting goods store in 1993. It is my understanding that at that time, this was aone-time offer from Easton and was the first time Gretzky's chrome stick wasmade available to the dealers. Thisstick has never been used, cut, taped, or altered in any way, shape or form. Thisstick has never seen a puck or taken a shot. The stick has been stored for18 years, since 1993.

The "chrome" aluminum shaft was the exact specs that Wayne Gretzky used duringthat period. The shaft is "Pro Balance Extra Stiff".

The left handed blade is the stock blade that came with the stick. It isthe Easton RB 1000 blade. Unfortunately, I could not obtain Gretzky's custom patternedblade. Easton at that time would not release his actual blade. In subsequentyears, Easton released many "consumer sticks" with shafts and blades labeled Gretzky for the masses. This is notone of those sticks.

One final note. It appears to me that these sticks are very rare,especially in NEW condition. I have yet to see another HXP 5100 Extra Stiff in this condition available on . (The onlyother HXP 5100's I have seen are game used by the Great One!) The other Easton sticksI do see on from time to time are either later models with the "PrecisionFit" arrow logo (1995/96 and later) or commemorative replica models like those sold on the Home Shopping Channels, which are not the "chrome" style, but rather plain dull aluminum.
