This is a great british style slip lead. I have used Mendota leashes for over 15 yrs in the field training, hunting and plain obedience they are very durable, soft (nylon) on the hands with an adjustable leather slider and a totally washable. I recommend the 1/2\" diameter for Springers, Labs and the like. I use 3/8\" for my English Cocker Spaniels.
