The handmade English Pewter and Swarovski crystal pendant combines of the astrological and occult signs of Venus: the planetary symbol (a circle over a cross) and the pentagram or \'Star of Venus\'. An etched brass inlay (representing the zodiac) is set in the upper circle of the planetary symbol. The five points on the brass \'Zodiac\' represent the movements of Venus that create the Pentagram or five pointed \'Star of Venus\'. Fleur-de-lys (also known as Merovingian lilies) complete the bottom half of the planetary sigil. This pendant measures approximately 1 7/8\" tall and comes on a 20\" nickel-free pewter chain. Magickal Symbolism:The Pentagram, or five pointed star, originated in ancient Mesopotamia as a graphic illustration of the conjunctions between Venus and the Sun as Venus shifted between its manifestation as the Morning Star and the Evening Star. As the Morning Star, the Mesopotamian goddess of the planet Venus, Ishtar, was a deity of battle, hunting and physical activity. As the Evening Star, she was the goddess of beauty, sexuality, and fertility.
