Giant jurassic Starfish - MUSEUM GRADE
This is a fantastic fossil specimen! It is a giant Asteroidea of the speciesPentasteria (Archastropecten) longispinaHess 1968. It comes from the upper jurassicof the Effinger Schichten Formation, Middle Oxfordian (161.2 - 155.7 Ma). It was legally collected during the early 1980\' at Weissenstein, Switzerland. The size of this exceptional starfish is 24cm / 9,44 inches LARGE !It is certainly one of the biggest ever found in fantastic condition! An ophiur is partially preserved on the same slab. Fossils from this locality are extremely rare on the market, this is an opportunity for any serious collector or MUSEUM.
