Drake R-4A Tube Receiver for 4-Series Vintage Ham Radio Equipment SN 3271 Drake R-4A Tube Receiver for 4-Series Vintage Ham Radio Equipment SN 3271 This receiver isn't exactly the best looking around, but it's far from the worst. The cabinet, which has some dings and scratches on it, appears to have been repainted at some point. The copper chassis is also fairly corroded, as is common with most Drake units. However, it runs well! It has also been partially recapped, as you can see in the photographs. It also includes an original R-4A manual, which isn't in the best of shape, but is complete.Although this piece is currently in working condition, it is still a vintage piece of equipment. It will inevitably need maintenance, however it's impossible to say whether that will be next week or a few years from now. Unless you are capable of doing this work yourself (or have access to someone who can), we suggest you revisit the idea of whether this is the right equipment for you.
