This sale is for a vintage Celadon cookie jar, \"Dutch Boy\" or \"Dutch Girl\". It depicts a child holding a toy sailboat, made circa 1943, original cold paint (yellow, red, blue, black) on an overall ivory-white colored glaze. On the bottom, incised (but difficult to read), is \"PAT DES 138536\" -- indicating that the manufacturer of this jar was the Ludowici Celadon Company.

A Google search on patent D138536 shows a filing date of Nov 8, 1943 and an issue date of Aug 15, 1944. This design was created by Lester M. Chace, and assigned to the \"Ludowici Celedon Company\" of Chicago Illinois. This jar is Absolutely Adorable and in Great shape! NO CRACKS, NO HAIRLINES!
