This is an antiqueJapanese Buddhist altar cloths / textile made to hang down the front of an altar in a Buddhist temple. (Uchishiki in Japanese.) It\'s very intricately embroidered on silk. It is used with some spotting and worn places. Look closely at the photos please. This has backing made of linen.
Along with this we\'re listing some other Buddhist textile items it came with. One is dated 1841 (Tempo 12) All these textiles seem to be from the same time period.
It\'s 58 inches across and 28 1/2 inches down. (148 X 72 cm)
