Antique 1896 Custer\'s Last Fight Anheuser Busch Budweiser Beer Litho Print Sign For Sale -

This is a large rarelithographBudweiser advertising signfeaturing \"Custer\'s Last Fight\", marked \"Entered according to Act of Congress by Adolphus Busch March 30, 1896 in the office of the Librarian of Congressat WashingtonD.C.\". The print is paper on board that was nailed on a wall at one time, so there are nail holes around the outer edgeswith a few in the middle, and there is some heavy staining around the edges. I\'ve included a photo of thewhole sign out of the frame. It looks like a portion of the sign along the right edge was cut off, and a piece of cardboard was added for proper fit in the frame. There are also some pencil, ink, and erased pencil markings on the print, some of which are shown close-up in the photos. Overall, the sign has a darkened, aged appearance, probably from hanging in a smoky tavern.

In the frame, the sign is matted and the frame and glass are relatively new and in excellent condition. A portion of the sign (mainly the badly stained edges andnail holes)is covered by the mat, but \"Home of Budweiser\" along the bottomis also hidden. If desired, the mat could easily be re-cut or removed to show some areas that are hidden.

The paper on the back of the frame was cut to allow for removal of the sign, and was taped back into place along the cut. The hanging wire is intact. Outer dimensions of the frame are 45 3/8\" x 33 1/8\" and the actual size of the sign (not including the piece of cardboard that was added in the frame) is 37\" x 27 1/4\".
