Altec 806a 16 ohm compression drivers - 1 pair - pristine, just serviced by GPA For Sale -

Here are two Altec Lansing 806a 16ohm alnico compression drivers in pristine cosmetic and functional shape. This pair came out of a pair of Altec 9844 monitors (same components as the Malibu and others). I sent them to Bill at Great Plains Audio, where they were completely gone through - aligned, voice coil gaps cleaned, AlNiCo magnets regaussed, diaphragms checked, swept and tested. One has the original diaphram, one has a brand new replacement from GPA.They sound just fantastic. Only reason I\'m selling is because I\'ve just gotten a second pair for peanuts. The shipping/service/return shipping + new diaphragm from GPA ran close to $300 alone. I don\'t have paperwork from GPA as Bill doesn\'t provide it, but GPA did record the nearly sequential pair of serial numbers when they did the work, so you\'re welcome to give him a call to verify. According to Bill, they \"look like they just came from Altec,\" and sound amazing as you\'d expect. I\'m doing a three day sale with to allow people time to call GPA for confirmation of the service I just had done. I\'ll do a buy it now also for a fair price. Happy to do more pics, but I\'m still listening to them. And yes, they \'ohm out\' correctly (at about 11.4 ohms), but DC resistance measured on a multimeter isn\'t indicative of true impedance under operating conditions.
