3-Coil Inductance CR: Sensitive/Sharp Tuning/Loud Volume. 《Item #4 in collection》AS A COLLECTOR OF A LARGE ASSORTMENT OF CRYSTAL RADIOS, THE HOME-CRAFTED 3-COIL INDUCTANCE CRYSTAL RADIOS HAVE BECOME \'THE PERSONAL FAVORITE.\' THIS IS DUE TO IT\'S (1) EASE-OF-OPERATION, IT\'S (2) SHARP, SELECTIVE TUNING, AND IT\'S (3) SUPERB SENSITIVITY. EACH OF THESE INDUCTANCE RADIOS THEREBY QUALIFY TO RECEIVE A STRONG 5-STAR RATING FOR ITS OVERALL PEFORMANCE!This seller & hobbyist would like to convey that he wishes that he had a crystal radio design such as this one to build and tinker with during his youth---one that worked this Efficiently, and with such Simplicity + far-reaching Sensitivity, and praiseworthy Selectivity in its station separation! This beautiful triple-coil crystal radio is a replica of the one that was developed originally by hobbyist Gus Arnold: This particular for-sale version, however, is crafted and built by seller Ken Lyons---All one-knob crystal radios in this 3-Coil Inductance series are near-equal in superb performance. The original concept of Mr. Arnold\'s 3-Coil Inductance circuit employed a clever-design that had great Sensitivity along with a Sharp Signal Pickup that was inclusive of the benefit of Loud Volume---ALL qualities that are inherent in the original model have carried into this duplicated model as well as the other duplications in the seller\'s collection. This replica copy of the original, however, is a a slight smaller version with the coil windings wrapped tightly around a former peanut-butter jar that\'s 2 3/4\" in diameter instead of the 4\" diameter of the original cardboard tube. In regard to performance---with only slight adaptions applied--- I, again, would rate this radio as a five-star, along with its original. As a bonus, an internal Impedance-Matching Transformer has been included in all one-knob crystal radios in this series so to allow the listener to enjoy the convenience of the plugged-in stereo ear plugs that have been carefully selected for quality. The fidelity of sound reproduction is excellent! As with ALL crystal radio designs, it is a necessity to wire-up a non- corrosive Ground Connection (to a cold water pipe or to an outside pipe driven into the earth), along with an ever-important Antenna Wire that is well-insulated and then strung as High in elevation, and as Long in length that\'s both practical & possible. For personal and home-safety, a lightning arrestor of some kind also is advisable for usage of any high-strung outside antenna.Ken Lyons (seller, collector, & hobbyist )
