This is a 2003 John Deere Model LT170 with the Briggs and Stratton Vanguard 16 horsepower engine and the 42\" Freedom Deck. This particular model was built at the John Deere Horicon Works in Horicon, WI. It was purchased from a local John Deere. Not some big box store, where the tractors are made off-shore. This is the real thing! Designed to cut grass effortlessly.
The tractor is in very good condition and runs very well. The Vanguard engine only has 370 hours on it. The tractor was largely used for my one-third acre lot when I used to own a home.Cutting the old lawn was a 20-30 minute job.I\'m sentimentally attached to it as my father gave this to me for my 50th birthday so it\'s taken a while for me to decide to sell it.
Otherwise... it\'s likely got more hours on it giving the grandchildren rides both on my lap and by pulling a set of trailers that I used to use to pull the kids behind the tractor.
Oil has been changed every year. Two or three times a year when the tractor was being used to cut the grass at the old house. Late last year, I sharpened the blades, changes the spark plugs, cleaned the carburetor, and change the oil and filter. It\'s been stored in the garage at the old house, or an enclosed trailer and in the garage at the current house back to the date of purchase. It has NEVER been stored outside.
Only place that you will see some rust is where the seat mechanism slides back and forth on the flat painted surface under the seat. The seat itself has cracks in the yellow vinyl but doesn\'t effect the function of the seat at all.
In this case... you will have to come pickup the lawn tractor at my home in Bartlett, IL or arrange for a shipper to come get them. I have no means of shipping the tractor to you.
A deposit of $100 is expected at the time of sale on . I expect you to come get the tractor within two weeks (or make arrangements with me otherwise).At the time of pickup... I\'d expect you to inspect the tractor and make a final decision to proceed. I\'d expect you to pay the balance in cash or through PayPal. No checks of any kind are excepted.
If you change you mind, not to go forward with the purchase... so be it. I\'ll refund your deposit and ask to refund my selling costs. If you take the tractor with you... I expect you to understand that at that time, the sale to be final. If you don\'t come within two weeks, I\'ll refund the deposit less the cost of selling it to you and relist it for someone else to consider.
