1970\'s Technics SL-220 Belt Drive Turntable

The SL-220 is a semi-auto turntable, to start you operate the cue lift and swing the arm to the start position, this starts the motor. Then you release the cue lever and the arm descends gently to the disc and starts playing. At the end of the side the arm automatically lifts up and swings back to the park position and the motor stops. At any time during play you can use the stop lever to interrupt play, the arm parks, and the motor stops. The headshell is removable, which permits easy attachment of the cartridge of your choice, and you can switch to another headshell and cartridge instantly when you wish.This is a high quality turntable that gives superb sound quality limited by the quality of the cartridge you chose to install. It features adjustments and these are described in the original owners handbook that is included. The two speeds are adjustable and the unit is giving stable playback speed. The tonearm is in near mint condition, the bearings have been checked and have free motion (without looseness) in all directions. The playing force is adjusted using the calibrated counterweight included. Anti-skate compensation is provided using the calibrated adjustment control. This model has user selectable AC input for use with 115 or 230V AC power.
