Look at my Avatar. Go on, take a peek. That is a picture of my white boxer dog, Dottie. I may be biased, but doesn’t she look handsome? Doesn’t she look cute?
Then why can’t I show her? It is illegal to discriminate people for their colour of skin, but it’s perfectly fine to disqualify a good-looking dog from a competition because ‘it’s not the right colour’.
I understand and know why they can’t be bred – them being white, their puppies are probably going to be too, which can lead to blindness and deafness. And yes, I know that white boxers tend to be uglier than brindle / ‘normal coloured’ boxers. But what makes them so different? Even dogs that aren’t totally white aren’t allowed to compete – if they’re over one third white, they can’t take place. My dog isn’t fully white – she has patches of brindle on both her skin and fur – but she can’t compete.
There’s also the topic of how come white boxers are never in boxer calendars – why do you think that is? I have no idea. But it’s discrimination.That’s OK.Tell me your idea.
Maybe white boxers are never in calendars bcos they are quite rare or maybe it is so that people do not decide to breed that specific trait b/c as yu sed it cos’s blindness. I also do not agree that mongrels (see my avatar) cannot compete or be part of agility teams.
Well in AKC, They first bred brindle and fawn then came white. But they already had everything published and millions of boxers registered. Why change?

not discrimination at all. it is called having standards. lets say your white gets accepted. ok I want my boxer to keep his long tail. Joe over there wants his schnauzer to keep his ears natural & on & on. if white were an accepted color people would be breeding more of them then they are now which would mean more deaf or blind boxers. now the byb’s tell people they are "rare" & get big bucks for them. white is not accepted in labs either.
White Boxers aren’t rare, I’ve known that since I first saw one. I’m also not saying it should be legal to breed them – I’ve already said I know why – but it’s not their fault they’re born like that.
you were complaining because whites or primarily whites couldn’t compete. you said it was discrimination – & that is what I addressed. it is not discrimination. there are very good reasons for many things to be disqualifications in all breeds, that just happens to be one of the ones for boxers
I believe it was because white boxer tends to prone to health problem. If you breed white to white, you will get higher chance of having puppies born deaf, blind, or deaf and blind. Same idea as Merle to Merle, you get rest of sick puppies with genetic faults.
And I believe I have also stated several times that I know why they can’t be BRED, but I don’t see why they can’t be shown

now i have never once seen a white boxer in real life.

I do understand why you are saying this. It is the same idea as why I can’t show my mutt dogs too? I guess the kennel clubs such as AKC, UKC, FCI, and ARBA want to see a dog that can breed and pass down good things to the next generation. I know that they are not allowed to have dogs who are fixed in the ring. You can get a show quality boxer with acceptable color to show, but too bad you can’t use the white boxer. 🙁
Cattlegirl, white boxers don’t seem rare because they aren’t. In my area alone, there are four white boxers, including my own 🙂
I agree with you about the white not being able to show, just in y case, I have a gorgeouse red nose female pit bull, to me, a "pit bull terrier" IS a breed, but the akc does not recognise them as a breed. You can show American Staffys, not pit bulls wich come from am-staffs, so i am just as irritated with that fact.
