Rabbits And Outside Living

My rabbit lived outside in a run. After about 3 years it died. She had developed ulcers and found it hard to breath. What could have been wrong?

It may well be that your rabbit was suffering from a bacterial infection called pasteurella. Although her ulcers probably did not cause the death directly, they were probably symptoms of what caused the death. Abscesses can appear anywhere on the body and if left untreated can cause fatal interference with bodily functions.

You said your pet was 3. In rabbit years this is middle-aged so remember that she did have a fairly long life.
