My 10 year old female Labrador suffers from diabetes and takes Novolin N (13 units 2 x per day). She takes medications of Gabapentin, Novox, Crananadin, plus 2 types of eye drops due to her one eye that is still partially blind. (She only has one eye now due to Glacoma causing her to loose her right eye).
I am telling you her history because her 7 year old son is now totally blind, too. They both throw up about once a week. The vomiting is a very mucousy phlegmy clear/white/yellow discharge. I’ve told the vet tech about it and they never seem to be alarmed. Is there reason for extra concern or testing?
I need to know if it is diabetes related and what I should do because otherwise the dog seems fine. I also want to ask about my 10 year old’s bowel movements. She is presently very constipated. Is there something I should give her? She and her son both are on diabetic dry dog food by Royal Canin: wet and dry for diabetic dogs. On occassions, they get chopped cooked chicken mixed in their dry kibbles.
