Chaquilla the Mixed Breed Dog

A friend of ours came to our house one day with a dirty, matted up little dog in tow. His buddies had kept her tied to a tree and decided they no longer wanted her. He asked if I wanted her. She became my friend. Our friend buzzed her hair off and she was beautiful! I'm not sure how old she was, but we figured at least one. She stayed with us 7 yrs...7 yrs of love, kisses, dancing, playing and being the greatest companion I could have ever hoped for. 2/16/06,, my husband took for a walk in our neighbor's yard. Someone, for some reason, ran about 10 feet in to the grass and ran over my girlie. The vet couldn't do anything, her chest had been crushed. She had always been so very vital and upbeat. And there she was, lying on a table in the vets' office, so still with a tiny trickle of blood coming from her nose. They gave me a cast of her paw print. And now her ashes sit in a pink marble urn on the shelf in my living room. There's not a day that goes by that I don't miss her and ache for her companionship. I thank God for bringing her into my life. She was a true blessing and her memory continues to bring happiness and peace to my heart. I hope to see her again someday. I love you, Chaquilla...save a kiss for me!
