Why Is My Cat’s Chin Going Bald?
My cat is almost 1-year-old and I have recently noticed that the hair on her chin is thinning to the point where I can see her skin. Should I be concerned?
Hair loss is cats is normally a result of the cat scratching an area of skin made itchy by one of many things (food allergy, fleas, dermatitis, contact allergy etc.) The chin area in cats is particularly prone to cat acne which can quite clearly be diagnosed as blocked pours and red spots will be apparent as well as the loss of hair. If none of these symptoms are present, or any other symptoms are noticed, you should take your cat for an examination with your vet.
