Maxman the Rottweiler
July 1992 to August 2004, Age 12
From Debra Stavely Reed

In the beginning I was rescueing Max, I soon realize
he had rescued me..
Good-bye My Maxman
Maxman came, As just a Young Pup
When my days were down, He lifted them Up
I gave him much Love, He gave me his Trust
From that day on, Just the two, of Us
A bond had developed, We were in it for Love
This dog was no doubt, My blessing from Above
We took care of each other, Oh the lessons we Learned
From those lessons on, No stone was Unturned
I taught him to bark, He didn't know How
I taught him to sit, And man was he Proud
I taught him to shake, On his paw he would Stand
He would give me that look, That said now I'm a Man
He always knew, When strangers were Near
He would warn them by saying, My Mom is Here
Please don't come close, She's all I've Got
I'll warn you one time, Cause I'm her Rott
The years that we shared, Were priceless to Me
Because now, My Max, Has been set Free
I know he stands proud, At his post on High
Watching over the children, And all Passersby
I will see him one day, When God calls my Name
And I know in my heart, He will be just the Same
He will grin and run, Saying Mom it's Ok
God said you'd come find me, Somehow Someday.

When Max was young, I would sing him to sleep
I would scratch him and rub him, not one sound did he peep
"Maxman is my sweet boyfriend
I will Love him til the end
When he is weak and he is strong
He will love me just as long."
Good Night Maxman
I Love You Still
