God sent him to me as I found him as a stray in my neighborhood along with an old springer spaniel. I found the owner of the springer who knew Gus' owner and that he no longer wanted him so he set him free. I of course kept Gus(real name was Fred but gave him a new home and new name)and he gave me so much love for 13 years. He was 3 when I found him. I work/volunteer for a basset rescue and care for 90 dogs waiting to be adopted. Gus used to LOVE to go to work with me. He gave me so much love, so many memories that I don't have enough room to mention. He gave me his heart up until the last beat. Hemangioisarcoma lesions were removed and I had him for another year where I gave him vitamins, herbs and many health supplements added to his diet. I thanked God each day for bringing gus into my life and begged him for more time with him. He was 16 when he returned to God. I miss him desparately. As he lay on the table I held his head in my hands as he left. He was such a gift to me.
