Ginger the Mixed Breed Dog

I originally wrote this blog on May 14th when I had to put Ginger to sleep. She was suffering from cancer so bad and she hadn't been able to sleep for an entire week because of the pain and discomfort. I finally had to make a decision that I had dreaded for months. I just wanted to repost it because it really helped me deal with the grief...
On may 14th 2008 at 1430 hours My dear friend Ginger was called back home. I now realize that she was sent to me for a reason. Through my divorce and other hardships I had to endure from 2001 to 2008, Ginger was my strength, my rock, my only true friend in the world. It was clear to me that God had sent her to me to comfort me in the coming hard times that I would soon face. She is now my guardian angel. I now understand that someone else will soon face a difficult time and God needed to reassign Ginger to help that person endure the pain and distress she helped me through. Thank you Ginger for being there for me, loving me unconditionally and never judging me. You were priceless and I love you very much. I can't wait to meet you at the rainbow bridge where I know you are sitting and waiting for me ever so loyal. I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you when you closed your eye for the last time, but that was too much pain for me to endure. I know you will be waiting there when I take my last breath and close my eyes for the last time. Till then, goodbye my friend...
